Brothers - Georgetown Family Photographer

This is part 1 of 2 sneak peeks for this family.  I just couldn't narrow it down any more so I decided to make it two sneak peeks for them.  Our session took place on the campus of Southwestern University in Georgetown.  It is SUCH a beautiful campus, there was no shortage of places to find good light and fun backgrounds.

We did take a small detour off of the campus though because - I had the shots below in the back of my mind and really wanted to see if I could get them.  I was excited to see a train track right next to the school.  These guys are always up for anything, we've had a lot of fun sessions together (like this one, this one, and this one) and I just LOVE that they will wander around after me and give anything try.

This family is getting ready to welcome a new addition in just about a week - Mom was an ABSOLUTE trooper walking all over the campus with me!  I can't wait to come back and show you a few maternity shots.  You can also look forward to another session with them after baby arrives.... this time with a little bit of pink added to the mix.  :)

A Sweet Little Flower - Austin Newborn Photographer

Meet sweet little Calla and her mama.
Isn't Calla an awesome name?? I am a big fan of unique names and I have never heard this one before. Calla comes from Calla Lily (the flower). Her mommy's name is the name of a flower as well.  A very neat tradition to pass on - very special.

I love the picture of Calla and her mommy below -  the first couple of weeks with your baby are like nothing else.  Getting to know this little person that is yours, your responsibility, your flesh and blood.  It is an incredible responsibility, an amazing gift, at once overwhelming and completely fulfilling.  You haven't known sleep deprivation until you've brought a newborn home from the hospital.  But in the middle of it all, there are moments like these.  As your newborn looks up and sees you.  Unlike any other.  They are priceless.

I can't get over her eyelashes in this portrait. I love 'em!!

Congratulations, you guys!! She is adorable! :)

A Birthday & A Baby - Austin Baby Photographer

Running around like crazy over here getting ready for a weekend full of family and friends to celebrate Aubrey's birthday.  My sweet baby is already one year old.  So wonderful and so crazy all at the same time.  The year has flown by.  In the last week she decided to embrace toddlerhood by starting to walk.  Such a big girl!!  She is a busy bee.  I love her!!

Taking a break from cleaning, let me share with you a little sneak peek from a session I did this week.  This little girl has the cutest cheeks I have ever seen!!  She was having a rough day when we met up and I don't think the foreign object attached to my face (read: camera) helped at all, but after a while she forgave me and we became friends.

Have a great weekend!!

My Baby Girls - Austin Child Photographer

Friday evening Tim had to work late so the girls and I were looking for things to do to keep us busy.  Before going to Chick-fil-a to eat dinner and let them get all of their energy out on the playground, I decided to head to our neighborhood park to try to get a cute shot of the girls together.

I have TONS of snap shots of them together (they climb up on Adalyn's bed and she says - "Mommy, take a picture!"), but up until this point it has been almost impossible for me to get a portrait of them together.  Have I mentioned before that taking pictures of my own kids is like 1000 times harder than taking pictures of other people's kids??  Yes, I think I have... I wont rant about it again.  Suffice it to say - it is difficult and trying on my patience. :)

So, just as I was about to give up on my mini-session with the girls, a wonderful thing happened.  I stopped trying to get them to pose for me and they just started interacting.  The picture I was able to capture below is something I will treasure FOREVER!  I love my girls.  I love that already, at such very young ages, they truly love each other.  They look for each other when they wake up from nap or walk into a room.  They are just starting to play together and it is a marvelous thing!

Such sweet, beautiful blessings in my life.  I am so grateful.

Happy Monday!!

Happy Wednesday - Austin Child Photographer

It's been quiet on the blog - just thought I would say hi.  I have been busy, busy proofing all of the bluebonnet sessions from the last couple of weeks.  Here is a shot of the little guy I'm working on right now.  Can you believe this was him just a few months ago.  They grow so fast!!
