Things have been crazy around here lately!
There were some pretty intense storms that hit Texas the day before Halloween. It just so happened that those storms dropped around 15 inches on our little city. There was major flooding and even a tornado! Our home sits on a dry creek bed. We have seen it rise with heavy rains several times, and it usually stops at the fence line or just inside. Last Friday it came up to our porch and in what I consider a miracle, stopped right there. Our home did not flood, but 7+ of our neighbor's homes flooded.
Two days after the torrential rain and flooding, I had mini-sessions scheduled in Georgetown. They had been scheduled for Saturday morning, but we decided to postpone due to all of the rain. Sunday morning was forecast to be bright and sunny. As I left my house Sunday morning, I looked north and saw dark thunder clouds. When I pulled up the radar I saw rain. As I studied the radar, I decided it looked like there was at least a chance that the rain would move out in time for our sessions. I decided to risk it and headed north driving through downpour after downpour on the way to Georgetown. Somehow, but yet another miracle, the rain moved out just as I pulled into downtown and never started up again. {{I was so thankful!!}}
This sweet family was brave enough to trust my gut that the rain would stop and that I could pull their session off on rain drenched streets. This was my first time to meet them and although our session was a super quick mini, we were able to pack a lot in and we had a great time!
I absolutely love this shot of them and I can't wait to come back and share more.
But for now.... I am trying to catch up on my mountain of editing.
Flooding is not good for my deadlines!!
