I met up with this family to help them get an updated family portrait. It was a rather different experience for me, since I am used to working with tiny tots running around in every direction and looking anywhere but at the camera. I had to laugh a little when their dog gave me a run for my money - I still had to pull out some of my kiddo tricks to try to get his attention. :)
Some more fun shots to share from the Oh Fiddlesticks! photo shoot. LOVE these shirts and love the creative concepts they came up with for this shoot. It was a lot of fun. If YOU love them too, then show the Oh Fiddlesticks! gals some love by becoming a fan of their facebook page. They announce all of their giveaways and specials on facebook - it's a great way to stay on top of everything Oh Fiddlesticks!
We did this mini-session at a restaurant called Dahlia Cafe in Liberty Hill, Texas and followed it up with a great country cooked dinner. I had never been to Dahlia's before, but I have to say I definitely plan to go back. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area with picnic tables and vintage patio sets. There are giant oak trees and a playground for the kids. The food was really tasty. If you live up on the north side, I recommend giving it a try! They have live music on Saturday night.
To the P family - thanks for the great recommendation and for a nice evening. It was great to see you guys. Enjoy your sneak peek!
This session reminded me of what I LOVE about this little job that I do. When I can look through the viewfinder of my camera and capture a child's personality - it makes me happy. To take a picture of who they are, not just what they look like right now. A picture of their joy and delight or their tentative nature. I love it! I love seeing who they are and capturing a little piece of that for their family.
This family is very special to me, and it was a blast to spend time with these very neat kiddos.
I can't believe I never blogged them - they went straight to my facebook fan page for a contest and never made it here. I had the amazing opportunity to work with my great friends at Oh Fiddlesticks! to do a photo shoot for their line of children's clothes. They held a model search on their facebook fan page and then fully styled and designed this session. It was a whirlwind of outfit and prop changes all in about an hour and a half and so, so much fun!! The kids were great to work with and I'm in love with these images. I'm also in love with their shirts!! There will be a part two to this post, because this doesn't even cover all of it!!
This is our series on their Book + Worm shirt. Which can be found here.
This is our series on their Cow + Boy & Cow + Girl shirts that can be found HERE.
And this is my personal favorite - Cup + Cake!! Found HERE.
A little sneak peek for one of my favorite families. They are regulars around here. Little Miss E made her debut here and then I got one of my favorite shots EVER of her right here. They are so much fun to work with. :) Our mini-session this week was in honor of Miss E's 4 month mark. Man, the time flies!! It seems like just yesterday that I was taking pictures of a sweet brand new baby and now look at her!! Getting so big and so gorgeous! Enjoy!!
I love it when clients suggest a new loction for a session. It is fun to get out of my "comfort zone" and explore someplace new. This family chose to have their session at Jones Brothers Park in Jonestown, Texas. Who knew that there was such a nice park, right on the lake just 15 minutes from my house. I loved it and will definitely be taking the girls there to play soon. I hear it is even prettier there at sunset! Thanks for the great idea, you guys!
I had so many favorites from this session, I decided to break it up into two blog posts. This first sneak peek is my favorite family shots from our session. I think my absolute favorite has to be the last shot. Anyone with small kids knows how well that picture sums up this phase of life. It's a blast, but it's crazy and there is always a small person who needs/wants your attention.
H family - it was fun. You guys always keep it interesting. :) Can't wait to share more with you.
A new contest... Send me your fabulous family photo to enter. (info@doreanpope.com)
Your family does not need to look fabulous to enter, you just need to BE fabulous. This can mean a variety of things, but it can also mean that it is a picture of all of your kids crying at the same time. :) Just more evidence that you NEED a fabulous family photo.
I will be accepting photos until next Saturday Oct. 16th. Voting will start on the 17th.
